Bees … Honey …. Mead!

Tugwell Creek Honey Farm and Meadery is BC’s first Meadery. Mead Maker and Master Beekeeper Robert Liptrot's has 43 years of beekeeping and 25 years of Mead making experience.

Discover the fascinating history of Mead -- the world’s first fermented beverage. Mead (Honey Wine) is the oldest art of fermentation. Learn how this unique beverage is crafted. Taste award winning Meads in our cozy tasting room and tour the Meadery.

Explore the secret life of bees and understand their importance and how they contribute to the well being of our planet. Meet our bee colony (behind glass) and see the inner workings of their world.

1 hour tour begins at 11am Sundays - May 1st through October 31st.

Cost of tour is forgiven with equivalent purchase.

Sooke Harbour House is a romantic boutique hotel and restaurant on the edge of the Pacific, located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. A postcard perfect spread of sea and peaks surrounds this premiere Vancouver Island getaway.

Our certified organic herb and flower gardens are designed as an edible landscape with indigenous plants and both common and unusual herbs. Many of the flavours used in our award wining restaurant come from our own edible gardens.

Meet our gardener at the hotel front desk. Tour our edible landscape learning the flower uses, gardening tips, and culinary aspects of unique herbs. Take home seeds from our garden to create your own edible landscape.

Tours begin at 10:30 am and take approximately 45 minutes. Cost is $10.00 per person and includes a complimentary gift of our certified organic seeds.

(Please call before coming if planning for a Tuesday or Wednesday visit, as often during the quiet season we do not offer tours on these days.)

A Quick Intensive into the World of Therapeutic Essential Oils.

From the Garden...at French Beach specializes in combining Thalassotherapy (using seaweeds) with organic essential oils in natural bases and carriers for safe, effective skin and total body care.
