Mount Wells Regional Park, Sooke BC
Spanning 123-hectares of west coast wilderness, through technically located in Langford, BC, Mount Wells is the gateway to Sooke Hills Wilderness Regional Park Reserve, the largest park area in the region at 4100 hectares. An exhilarating hike for experienced hikers, the magnificent vistas of the Sooke Hills, Sea to Sea Green Blue Belt and Strait of Juan de Fuca are well worth the trek to the challenging summit. Along the way, hikers climb alongside towering Douglas-firs and colourful varieties of wildflowers, experiencing firsthand the fragile ecosystems and rare plant and animal species of south-west Vancouver Island. The park is easily accessed via car from Sooke Lake Road, and turning left onto Humpback Road.
