Awareness Film Night February 8th presents “Peace Out”.

In the pristine Peace Region of B.C. an energy bonanza of unimaginable size is unfolding far from the eyes of the world, including a major new dam, tens of thousands of hydro fracked shale gas wells and a nuclear power plant. Winner of The Most Popular Canadian Documentary at the recent 2011 Vancouver International Film Festival, “Peace Out” is a beautifully made, visually dynamic exploration of energy extraction and its costs.

Question period after the film with Fabio Wilkinson, one of the filmmakers, Ben Parfitt, award winning investigative journalist and CCPA policy analyst who will speak about the explosion of natural gas development and local MLA John Horgan.

7 p.m. at Edward Milne Community School theatre, 6218 Sooke Rd. in Sooke. By donation to Peace Valley Environment Association.
