Storm Watching at Port Renfrew, BC
This past weekend we were hit with some heavy winds on Vancouver Island. Mix that with a super high tide and tidal direction and we’ve got a great chance at some awesome storm watching. I chose Port Renfrew, about an hour west of Sooke on Hwy. 14. This passes through Jordan River, a hot spot for surfing as well as passing all the amazing trail heads for the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail.
I chose Botanical Beach, an easy accessible rainforest trail to some amazing tidal pools, when the tide is low of course. Here, we just had large swell and waves breaking against the rocks.
