Discover Sooke

Earlier this morning I went out for a quick jaunt with Russ Nicks, owner of Sooke Coastal Explorations, and his dad Blair, to try our luck in catching some Hali but came up empty handed.

After we docked the boat at Sooke Harbour Resort and Marina, we were greeted by the resident Harbour Seals that wait for fish scraps. Sorry guys, we didn’t luck out today. Typical with the Nick’s family of “fisherman”.

However we did have some left over anchovy and my underwater Flip video camera in hand. We thought it might be neat to do some underwater shots of the seals going for the anchovy. Not surprising, they were pretty curious of the camera and at one point I thought we were going to lose it in the mouth of seal.
