Some of my favourite things about Sooke
These are some of my favourite things about Sooke, BC – our charming seaside Vancouver Island town:
- Driving down Church Road towards Sooke Road on a clear day; coming up over the hill by Knox Presbyterian Church and being struck with the incredible view of the white-capped Olympic Mountains. It takes my breath away every time.
- Browsing (and buying) in Bombora Gifts.
- Walking to the Reading Room on a crisp, bright Saturday morning for a strong, soothing “Canadiana”.
- Walking at Whiffen Spit when the fog rolls in.
- Hiking – just about everywhere in the area – especially Sooke Potholes, East Sooke Park, and the Galloping Goose at Cooper’s Cove.
- Watching the seals hover and play at the fish cleaning station at Sooke Harbour Resort and Marina when the fishermen return with their catch-of-the-day.
…I could go on and on and likely will again when I’m inspired to talk about all the things I love in Sooke. I invite you to tell us what you love about Sooke on Twitter – click here to follow Discover Sooke on Twitter.
