Discover Sooke

LauraA and her husband moved to Sooke in the blustery winter of 2008. As winter turned to Spring and they started to explore their new environs, she realized what a gem they had stumbled on to and is now endeavoring to share her Sooke with anyone who’ll listen!!

Laura contacted me a few months back and had asked me if I could sit down and discuss what it’s like being an business owner in Sooke, the things we do to get connect and what things work and what things don’t work.

She was putting together an article for Maple Line Magazine, a fairly new, but well published local magazine for the Sooke Region chalked full of stories and information.

Immediately upon contact I wanted to meet Laura as I had seen her enthusiasm online web presence in my journey’s with Discover Sooke and I wanted to see what she was all about, what made her tick and to pick her brain.

What was supposed to be an hour meeting turned into an afternoon. We got along very well and shared the same vision and passion for the community and region of Sooke. Enjoying a teriffic coffee from the Reading Room Cafe and Bookstore, we shared everything we loved about the community. What was supposed to be an interview turned into a friendship.

Laura has done much for Discover Sooke in her writings on her personal blogs as well as helping promote my photography in the area.
