Discover Sooke

Sooke Region Food CHI and Edward Milne Community School present “Island On the Edge”, produced and directed by Slow Food Vancouver Island’s Nick Versteeg, who will be in attendance at the screening.

This film looks at the history of food production on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands and what would happen if our food supply were suddenly cut off.

The evening will also feature 2 short docs on community gardens:  “The Sharing Farm” (Richmond, B.C.) and “Garden Tendrils” (Sooke).

There will be display tables, local seeds for sale and refreshments provided by EMCS Culinary Arts.

Doors open at 6:30 and the films start at 7:00 in the Edward Milne Community School Theatre, 6218 Sooke Rd. in Sooke.

Admission is by suggested donation of $5-$10.
