New website for Sooke Coast Guard Auxiliary

Our advertising company, EdgeFlow Media, just launched a new website for the Sooke Coast Guard Auxiliary. I wouldn’t normally announce a new website that we just created on Discover Sooke, however I feel it is important enough to warrant a shout out on our website. As an active member of the Auxiliary and vice-president of the Juan de Fuca Marine Society, I want to get the word out to the town of Sooke how important our organization is to the community. We are all volunteers who risk our well being to save others in need. We are part of the emergency response team and are an integral part of the team.

When the road to Port Renfrew was washed out, we were on call, ready to assist in the transportation of any persons needing to get to Victoria General Hospital. If the Sooke River Bridge was ever closed or there was another accident on the bridge, we have the ability to transport people from the Govenrment dock to Sunny Shores, or even Metchosin if need be.

Not only do we assist boaters in distress, we also are part of the community helping people with boating safety.

This new website will hopefully let the great Sooke community know just what we do and how they can help us.

As I’ve said before, we are ALWAYS looking for new people to join. What a great way to meet wonderful people, get out on the water and learn some invaluable skills.

Please feel free to check out the new website we created for them. I hope you enjoy it.
