Discover Sooke

I’d like to take the time to wish everyone a Happy New Year in the Sooke area. I hope everyone enjoyed this holiday season as much as we did. We certainly had a lot of quiet time as both of our families are back east in Ontario. We spent a few great nights with friends over the holidays, ever so gracious to invite us into their homes with their families to enjoy their holiday traditions and feast on many delicious meals.

At the end of 2008 we officially launched the Discover Sooke website. This was a project that we had been working on for many months. A lot of research and late nights went into this. All of us have full time jobs so this was a side project and we devoted as much time to it as we could, something that we are continually doing now and will be doing in the future.

We have a lot of great plans and ideas for the Discover Sooke brand as well as this website. We have a few stores wanting to sell a branded clothing line as well as merchandise. We have some great print advertising that we are currently working on and we are going to be working our hardest to make this the best place to find relative Sooke area information.

Of course we need everyones help to do this. The most difficult thing for us is trying to find out upcoming events for the website. Currently there isn’t one easy and updated place to get this information, so we are relying on you, the readers to help us fill in the blanks. All you need to do is send us an email outlining the times and dates and a brief description as well as a contact number or email address for further information or if anyone has questions.

Our goal is to be the Sooke area information resource. We’ve seen over 1000 unique visitors over the month of December and many of them are searching the business section for business listings. Please make sure you are listed under one of these sections and if you aren’t, inform us and which section it is you’d like to fall under.

If $15/mth, you can get an enhanced business listing. The advertising is for a year in total and we’ll give you 1 free month. So pay for 11, you get the 12th month free. This gives you a link at the top of that section going to your website. Currently all listings on the page are static so when people find you, they can’t get to your website unless you have an enhanced listing.

The home page and business pages are our most visited sections. With our upcoming brand and push into the market, we expect our visitor numbers to skyrocket. With our specialized team of search engine marketers, our website is ranking up high in many aspects of people’s searches. With our stats programs we can see what people are searching and how they are finding us and tailor our website towards those.

The more we market, the better it is for your business and company. Let us do the work for you and have them find your website and business from our website directory listings.
