Sooke Santa Claus Parade – Sunday, Dec.7 – 12:30pm

This will be our first time attending the Sooke Santa Claus Parade and we are both looking forward to watching it. There is nothing better than a small town Santa Claus Parade and watching the little kids eyes light up when the last vehicle drives by with Santa waving to the crowd.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary was supposed to be in the Santa Claus Parade this year but the “Spirit of Sooke” is still up in Sidney getting repaired from the wave incident last spring. We were to tow the boat behind a truck with us in it but since it’s not back yet we didn’t have a float to put in, which is disappointing. Next year I hope to be in it though.

Fingers crossed the weather stays nice. Be sure to bundle up and stay warm. Bring a thermos of hot chocolate and come on out and support the local businesses. Be sure to grab as many candy canes as you can.

You know, I’ve been good this year and I’m hoping Santa sees that. I can’t tell you what I’m asking for, but let’s just say it’s red, boasts over 500bhp and has a horse emblem on the front of the car.

We’ll see everyone out there. Happy Holidays!!
